Good afternoon,

I’m writing to update you on our plans at Sylvan Park Free Will Baptist Church in light of the developments surrounding COVID-19. Based upon the recommendation of national and local health officials, we are canceling our gathered worship and Awana meetings for the weeks of, March 22nd and 29th. We will continue to evaluate the situation over the next couple of weeks and further inform you of future decisions.

While we will not be having corporate worship services for the next two Sundays, we will provide a worship guide with selected Scripture passages and songs for you to use on Sundays in your home. We strongly encourage you to use this time and resource to worship the LORD individually or with your family. Let us use this absence of gathering as an exceptional time under the hand of God, to reflect on our life, our church, our community, and to pray for the sick and medical professionals, to offer whatever we can, and to rest.

We also want to encourage you to continue giving your tithes and offerings during this time. You can give safely and securely on the church website, SylvanParkChurch.org/give or by writing a check. If you prefer to write a check, you can mail it to Sylvan Park Church, 4701 Wyoming Avenue, Nashville, TN 37209.

If you have a personal or financial need during this time of significant change and instability please do not hesitate to let us know. You can send an email directly to me at Pastor@SylvanParkChurch.org or call me at (615) 397-7896. As always, we will do whatever we can as a church to help meet one another’s needs.

Let’s also be in prayer for our country, state, and city, its leaders, medical professionals, and those facing crises because of this pandemic. Our LORD rules and reigns even in the midst of uncertainty and crisis. He is near to those who suffer and are broken-hearted. He gives wisdom to those who ask. Let’s faithfully seek the LORD and pray that even this might lead to a spiritual awakening in our country.

I look forward to a Sunday soon when we can gather again to worship the LORD together.

Blessings,

Frank Owens
