About Sylvan Park Church
Following Jesus Together
We are a neighborhood church located in Nashville, Tennessee that is centered on God’s Word, shaped by the gospel, and learning to love Christ and our neighbors together.

Our story
Faithfully Serving Since 1945
Sylvan Park Church began when a small group of families believed God wanted a church serving this neighborhood. Generations later, our surroundings have changed, but our foundation has not.
We remain committed to proclaiming God’s Word, making disciples, caring for one another, and sharing the hope of Christ in Nashville and beyond.
What Shapes US
Rooted in Truth. Formed by Grace. Living Together.
God’s Word
The Bible is our trustworthy authority for faith, worship, relationships, and everyday life.
The Gospel
Our hope rests in what Jesus accomplished through His life, death, and resurrection—not in our own performance.
Life Together
God forms His people in community as we worship, pray, serve, forgive, encourage, and grow together.
The Center of Our story
The Gospel Changes Everything
The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ lived the life we could not live, died in the place of sinners, and rose again. Everyone who turns from sin and trusts in Him can be forgiven, reconciled to God, and made new.
This message shapes how we worship, how we treat people, how we face failure, and how we carry hope into everyday life.
We are not accepted by God because we perform well. We are accepted because of Christ.

and life.

We testify to the life-changing hope of the gospel that Christ
offers to all.

Singing the Truth Together
We choose songs that are biblically rich, singable by the congregation, and helpful in reminding one another of the hope we have in Christ.
Some were written generations ago. Others are being written today. Together they help put God’s truth on our lips and carry it into the week.

God’s Word for Everyday Life
We preach through books of the Bible because we believe God’s Word—not our opinions—should shape our lives. Each sermon is an opportunity to understand Scripture in context, see Christ more clearly, and follow Him more faithfully.
