What is the Gospel?
The gospel is not advice for improving your life. It is the good news of what God has done through Jesus Christ to rescue sinners and bring them back to Himself.
1.
God
God created us, rules over us, and is perfectly loving, holy, and just.
2.
Humanity
We have rejected God’s rule, sinned against Him, and cannot save ourselves.
3.
Jesus Christ
Jesus lived without sin, died in the place of sinners, and rose victoriously from the grave.
4.
Our Response
God calls us to turn from sin and trust in Jesus alone for forgiveness and eternal life.
Jesus Changes Everything
You do not become right with God by becoming religious, improving your behavior, or earning His approval. Salvation rests entirely on Christ’s finished work.
Our sins were placed on Christ, and everyone who trusts Him receives His righteousness and forgiveness.
How should I respond?
Repentance means turning away from rebellion against God. Faith means relying on the risen Jesus to save you. Neither is a work that earns salvation; both are a response to God’s gracious invitation.
You do not need special words, but you can honestly confess your sin, acknowledge that you cannot save yourself, and place your trust in Jesus Christ.
Set your hope on Jesus. He loved you first and gave Himself to bring sinners to God.
